Advocates hail boost in rental fund

A bill raising the affordable housing coffers’ cut of tax revenue was OK’d

~~<p>Supporters of affordable-housing initiatives are calling an increase in the amount of conveyance tax revenue going into the state's rental housing trust fund a major victory emerging from this year's legislative session.</p>
<p>Restoring the allocation of conveyance tax revenue for the fund to 50 percent is expected to generate more than $10 million a year over what is currently produced. The fund is administered by the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corp.</p>
