Dismissal criticized as payback for report

The ex-fellow's damning internal assessment was leaked and led to a shakeup of the POW/MIA office

~~<p>Paul M. Cole, who reported millions in waste, fraud and abuse within the Hawaii-based Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, has been fired from his job in what he says is retaliation for the whistleblowing.</p>
<p>In an internal efficiency report that was leaked to the press last summer, Cole, a scientific fellow working at JPAC, said the &quot;intelligence&quot; (J2) section spent lavishly on luxury hotels and fine dining during what he referred to as &quot;military tourism&quot; trips to Europe.</p>
