Box-office hit 'The Admiral' opens Friday at Pearlridge

~~<p>&quot;The Admiral: Roaring Currents,&quot; a box-office hit in Korea that was released on July 30 and has already sold more than 4.7 million tickets, will open at Pearlridge Consolidated Theatres on Friday. The Korean title &quot;Myeong-ryang&quot; is a legendary naval battle that occurred during the Japanese invasion of Korea from 1592 to 1598. On Sept. 16, 1597, Admiral Sun-shin Yi won the battle at Myeong-ryang sea with only 12 ships against a Japanese fleet of 133 ships (the film exaggerates the number to 330 Japanese ships). Admiral Yi's statue stands in the heart of Seoul at Gwanghwamoon. Min Shik Choi of &quot;Old Boy&quot; plays Admiral Yi.</p>
