<p>Much ado was made last week when Democratic candidate David Ige abruptly withdrew from the first gubernatorial forum of the general-election season; he cited disagreement over recording terms with event sponsor, the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii. The institute initially was disappoint- ed, but later proudly touted the discussion between Republican candidate Duke Aiona, Libertarian Jeff Davis and Independent Mufi Hannemann.</p>
