» Philadelphia Phillies catcher Dane Sardinha (Kamehameha) was designated for assignment yesterday.
» Seattle Mariners pitcher Brandon League (Saint Louis) blew eight-inning leads in each of his last two games. His ERA jumped a full point after he allowed five earned runs in 1/3 innings in two outings against Kansas City. He took the loss on Wednesday, allowing two walks and a home run without recording an out.
» Keoni De Renne ('Iolani) was sent back down to Double-A Reading this week. De Renne hit .250 (3-for-12) in five games with Triple-A Lehigh in the International League.
» Omaha Royals first baseman Kila Ka'aihue ('Iolani) hit home runs in consecutive games this week and has 18 this season.
» Designated hitter David Freitas (Hawaii) went 1-for-4 on Friday to extend his hitting streak to eight games.
» Catcher Carlton Tanabe (Pearl City) was called up to Double-A West Tenn from the Rookie League.
» The Newark Bears of the Atlantic Independent League put Kala Ka'aihue ('Iolani) on the inactive list.

» Orleans Firebrands pitcher Matt Sisto threw five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks in a 5-3 victory on Tuesday. Sisto has not allowed a run in his last three starts and issued just one walk in his last 16 1/3 innings.
» Thunder Bay infielder Pi'ikea Kitamura scored the winning run in a 6-5 victory over Duluth on Monday. A day later, Kitamura hit the go-ahead RBI single to beat Duluth by the same score.
» Conejo left-hander Blair Walters picked up his first loss of the season, allowing five runs in six innings in an 8-4 loss to Santa Barbara. Walters walked two and struck out eight, and has 45 strikeouts to only seven walks this summer.
