Hawaii takes a four-shot lead into today's final round of the Girls Junior America's Cup, in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.

The Hawaii team played Morgan Run Golf Club in 4-over-par 220 yesterday, with the best three scores of four golfers counting. Its two-day total is 1-under 431 -- four shots ahead of Oregon and seven up on British Columbia.

Hawaii's Cassy Isagawa and Alina Ching share second individually, a stroke behind leader Jennifer Yang, of British Columbia. Isagawa and Ching shot 2-over 74s in the second round and have a two-day total of 143.

Isagawa, a Baldwin High senior, is the state high school champion. Ching, a Punahou senior, reached the third round of the Manoa Cup this summer. Cyd Okino, also a Punahou senior, is tied for sixth at 72--145. Punahou sophomore Kacie Komoto (75--150) is tied for 16th.

In Albuquerque, N.M., the Hawaii boys fell to ninth after the second day of their Junior America's Cup at Isleta Eagle Golf Club.

Hawaii shot 218 in the second round and is at 6-over 432, 16 shots behind leader Southern California. Individually, Alex Chiarella (70--140) is ninth, Michael Fan (74--145) 25th, Ryan Kuroiwa (74--147) 38th and Justin Chu (78--152) 57th.

In other golf news yesterday:

» Makena's Kirk Nelson shot a 2-under 70 to overtake Hilo Municipal's Lance Taketa and win the Aloha Section PGA Senior SPC/Senior Championship at Kauai Lagoons.

Nelson had a two-day total of 5-under 139 and won the $1,000 first prize. Taketa, who took the lead Tuesday when he played the back nine in 30, closed at 75--142 and earned $800.

Nelson and Taketa earned the section's two exemptions for the 2010 Senior PGA Professional National Championship, Oct. 7-10 at Toscana Country Club in Indian Wells, Calif.

» At the 42nd Trusted Choice Big I National Championship, being played on Old York Country Club in Chesterfield, N.J., Honolulu's Alice Kim moved up to fifth after shooting a second-round 73. At 150, Kim is nine shots out of first at the halfway point.

Hilo's Ciera Min shot 74 and moved up to 17th, at 157. The top 27 made the cut.

Lahaina's Aaron Kunitomo is tied for 10th among the boys, at 73--148. He is six shots behind the leader. Haiku's Justin Keiley (80--160) did not make the cut.

» At Niagara Falls Country Club in Western New York, Punahou alum Alex Ching opened with a 7-over 77 at the 52nd annual Porter Cup. Ching is 12 shots out of first. Former Honolulu resident Chan Kim shot 71.
