Brennan may play

Raiders coach Tom Cable says that former UH and Redskins quarterback Colt Brennan "probably" will play Saturday at Chicago. While Jason Campbell is expected to play almost the entire first half, Kyle Boller and Brennan may split time in the second.

 

OceanFest takes over Waikiki

Ocean sports will rule Waikiki next week during the ninth annual Duke's OceanFest.

Surfing, stand-up paddle surfing, swimming, beach volleyball, surf polo and paddleboarding events are scheduled from Wednesday through next Saturday.

The festival celebrates the legacy of Duke Kahanamoku, recognized as the father of modern surfing. Kahanamoku competed in four Olympics, winning three gold medals and two silvers.

3 Hawaii players win U.S. junior title

The U.S. Men's Junior National Volleyball Team, with three players from Hawaii on the roster, won Pool C at the 2010 NORCECA Men's Junior (U-21) Continental Championship yesterday in Quebec.

Taylor Crabb (Punahou '10) led the U.S. with 13 points in a 25-22, 25-19, 25-19 sweep of Mexico at the Centre-Sportif de Gatineau.

The United States improved its record to 3-0.

Also on the team is setter Micah Christenson (Kamehameha '11) and hitter Josh Taylor (Punahou '11).
