Punahou senior Michelle Hee Sue Condry signed a national letter of intent yesterday to join the University of San Francisco women's golf team next season.
Condry placed in the top 30 at the 2010 Junior World Championship to go along with a fifth-place showing at the Jennie K. Wilson Women's Invitational.
Gatorade and ESPN RISE named Kamehameha outside hitter Misty Ma'a the 2010-11 Gatorade Hawaii Volleyball Player of the Year this week. Ma'a led the Warriors to a 25-2 record and their sixth straight Division I state title this past season, while hitting .490 and recording 231 kills.
She was also named 2010 player of the year in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu and was a two-time, first-team All-State selection.
Hawaii Pacific defeated the University of Charleston (W. Va.) 68-67 yesterday in the Hoop 'N' Surf Classic at Kilauea Gym. Junior guard Paris Gravely led the Sea Warriors (4-3) with 19 points, and Mana Hopkins added 14 points and nine rebounds. Ali Tobias finished with a team-high 14 points for the Golden Eagles (5-4).
Winners of three straight, HPU faces Fayetteville State (N.C.) today at 2:30 p.m. at Kilauea Gym.
