Tadd Fujikawa shot a 4-under-par 68 yesterday to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the Hawaii State Open golf tournament at Turtle Bay Resort.
A field of 188 golfers is competing in the 54-hole tournament on the resort's Arnold Palmer and George Fazio courses.
Ben Sauls, Ryan Perez, Jake Grodzinsky and Sam Cyr share second place, one shot back. PGA Tour pro Dean Wilson, the 2007 state open winner, trails by three shots at 1-under 71.
Casey Nakama, the 1987 open champion, leads the senior division with a 5-under 67 at the Fazio course. David Ishii is second at 68, while Dave Eichelberger, Ty Otake and Lance Taketa are third at 69.
Kelli Oride and Ji Soo Park are tied for the women's division lead at 2-under 70. Defending champion Katie Kempter trails by five shots.
The first round featured a hole-in-one by Hunter Larson, 22, of Honolulu, on the Palmer course's No. 13 hole.
The second round tees off at 7:45 a.m. today. The field will be trimmed for tomorrow's final round.

The Seasiders (5-3) hit 17 of 23 shots, a blistering 73.9 percent, in the second half to rally from a 26-24 halftime deficit.
Blair Wheadon, Jordan Freelander and Zach Davis had 10 points each to lead the Wolves (6-6).
BYU-Hawaii's next game is Jan. 4 at home against Olivet Nazarene, the Seasiders' final tuneup for Pacific West Conference play.
