Former Warrior Salas traded to Patriots

FOXBOROUGH, Mass.>> The Patriots acquired former University of Hawaii star receiver Greg Salas from St. Louis on Saturday.

Salas, 24, was drafted by St. Louis in the 2011 fourth round, and New England surrendered an undisclosed draft pick for him. He played in six games for the Rams last season, finishing with 27 receptions for 269 yards.

In other transactions involving players with Hawaii ties:

>> Former Hawaii receiver Royce Pollard was signed to the New York Jets’ practice squad.

>> Former UH linebacker and CFL veteran Solomon Elimimian was signed to the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad.

>> Former Stanford defensive lineman and Campbell High alumnus Matt Masafilo was signed to the 49ers’ practice squad.
