MEN’S BASKETBALL

>> Baruch (N.Y.) College junior Matt Feldman (Punahou ’10) hit both 3-point attempts and finished with eight points, four steals and three assists in 24 minutes off the bench of a 61-57 win over College of Staten Island on Friday.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

>> Cal State Northridge senior Violet Alama (Kalani ’09) finished with five points, 10 rebounds and a block in a 65-53 loss to Hawaii on Saturday.

>> Indiana forward Milika Taufa (Lahainaluna ’10) had four points, eight rebounds and an assist in 23 minutes off the bench of a 70-56 loss to Ohio State on Sunday.

>> Utah senior Iwalani Rodrigues (Kalani ’08) tied a season high with 23 points on 9-for-17 shooting and added five rebounds, two steals and a block in playing all 40 minutes of a 63-60 win over USC on Friday.

>> Washington State freshman Lia Galdeira (Konawaena ’12) scored 12 of her game-high 21 points in the second half to lead the Cougars to a 60-50 win over Arizona on Sunday. Galdeira also had seven steals, five rebounds and two assists and teammate Dawnyelle Awa (Konawaena ’12) added six rebounds and six assists.

MEN’S GYMNASTICS

>> Oklahoma freshman Joshua Yee (Thompson Academy ’12) scored a 14.0 on floor and tied for fourth with a 14.5 on vault in a dual-meet win over Iowa on Saturday.

WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS

>> LSU sophomore Randi Lau (Thompson Academy ’11) earned a 9.9 on vault to score her first event win of the season in a dual meet victory over Kentucky on Friday. Lau is now tied for seventh on the vault in the national collegiate event rankings.

>> Arizona State senior Kahoku Palafox (Maryknoll ’08) earned a 9.85 on bars and a 9.75 on beam in a dual-meet loss to Utah on Friday.

>> UC Davis sophomore Tiana Montell (St. Joseph ’11) scored a 9.8 on vault to finish in second and a 9.6 on bars in a dual-meet win over Seattle Pacific on Friday.

SOFTBALL

>> St. Martin’s (Wash.) senior Joslyn Eugenio (Sacred Hearts ’09) hit .286 (6-for-21) with a double, a home run and three RBIs to help the Saints finish 2-4 in six games in the Kona Kickoff Classic over the weekend.

>> Menlo (Calif.) senior shortstop Ululani Reyes (St. Francis ’09) went 5-for-12 with two doubles, two walks, six runs, six RBIs and a stolen base to help the Lady Oaks start the season with three wins in four games against Northwest Nazarene. Teammate Nadia Le‘i (Kamehameha ’09) went 0-for-1 with a walk and scored a run in a 10-0 win on Friday.

MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD

>> Pacific (Ore.) junior Kelson Kawai (Kohala ’10) finished fifth in the men’s triple jump at 41 feet, 5 inches on his second attempt, and junior Sean Valente (Saint Louis ’10) swam one leg on the 1,600-meter relay team that finished sixth in 3:38.62 at the Vandal Collegiate on Saturday.

WOMEN’S TRACK and FIELD

>> Pacific (Ore.) sophomore Kelii Aken-Pagdilao (Kamehameha ’11) led the Boxers with an 11th-place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.41 seconds) and freshman Dawne Yamamoto (Mililani ’12) finished 12th in the 400 meters in 1:05.54 at the Vandal Collegiate on Saturday.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

>> Long Beach State junior Taylor Crabb (Punahou ’10) hit .325 with 19 kills, seven digs, four block assists and a solo block, and Trevor Crabb (Punahou ’09) added two kills and a dig in a five-set win over Brigham Young on Friday. Libero Jaylen Reyes (Kamehameha ’11) had three assists and two digs for the Cougars.

>> Stanford libero Scott Sakaida (‘Iolani ’10) finished with 10 digs and two assists as the Cardinal split two five-set matches against Hawaii on Friday and Saturday.

>> Pepperdine sophomore outside Josh Taylor (Punahou ’11) had a team-high 16 digs, three digs, two aces and a block assist in a four-set win over Southern California on Friday. Trojans setter Micah Christenson (Kamehameha ’11) had 35 assists, eight block assists, three digs and a solo block, and sophomore middle Ben Lam (Punahou ’11) had three kills and eight block assists.

>> Holy Names (Calif.) sophomore outside Keenan Paulos (Saint Louis ’11) had 16 kills, 17 digs, four blocks, two aces and two assists, and junior libero Mike Gomez (Maryknoll ’10) had 14 digs and two assists in four-set losses to Johnson & Wales (Colo.) and Hope International on Thursday and Friday. Sophomore setter Bryson-Joey Morn (Farrington ’11) had 25 assists, 11 digs, two aces and a kill, freshman Clyde Ortega (Waipahu ’12) had 28 assists, six kills, three digs and three blocks, and freshman outside Kailii Lagundino (Kauai ’12) had 15 digs, four assists and a kill for the Hawks. Hope International freshman Jared Shirai (Kaimuki ’01) had a match-high 14 digs and two kills and sophomore Matt Heirakuji (Kamehameha ’11) had 13 digs in the win over Holy Names.

>> Concordia-Irvine freshman outside Chad Barretta (Hawaii Baptist ’12) hit .450 with 12 kills, four aces, four block assists, three digs and two solo blocks in a four-set victory over Johnson & Wales (Colo.) on Friday.

WOMEN’S WATER POLO

>> Harvard senior co-captain Aisha Price (Punahou ’10) was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association Southern Division player of the week on Tuesday. Price led the team with 10 goals over the weekend and added four assists and five steals in wins over Iona, Villanova and a club team from Montreal. Villanova senior Hannah Ishida (Punahou ’09) scored once in an 18-6 loss to the Crimson.

>> Cal State Bakersfield junior Paige Tsuruda (Word of Life ’10) scored two goals in a 10-6 loss to San Diego State on Saturday.

MEN’S WRESTLING

>> Johns Hopkins sophomore Evan Johnson (Punahou ’11) went 1-1 in the 197-pound division in matches on Saturday, winning 5-3 against Stevens College before falling 9-2 to Ursinus College.

WOMEN’S WRESTLING

>> Oklahoma City University junior Stephanie Geltmacher (Kalaheo ’08) was the runner-up finisher in the 143-pound weight class to earn All-America honors for the third time at the Women’s College Wrestling Association Championship on Jan 26. University of Cumberlands (Ky.) senior Cianah Hee (Kahuku ’08) finished fifth and Missouri Baptist’s Lindsay Villarmia (Aiea ’12) was eighth at 130 pounds, while Midland University’s Quinn Nagatani (Mililani ’12 ) placed seventh at 109 pounds.
