There are no specific criteria to enter the High School Hall of Fame, but judges knew Jarrett Arakawa fit the bill.
The quiet leader was one of 12 officially inducted last night at the annual banquet held at the Sheraton Waikiki.
"He’s the calmest athlete under pressure I’ve seen in a long time," ‘Iolani co-athletic director Carl Schroers said. "He has a short memory and comes right back every time."
Arakawa, a three-sport standout, will play baseball at UH next season.
"It’s kind of surreal. You don’t think about this until it happens," he said, adding that guest speaker Gib Arnold made an impact.
