Former Hawaii All-American hitter Kanani Danielson put down 10 kills in two sets and Toyota Auto Body played tenacious defense in sweeping the Rainbow Wahine 25-18, 26-24, 25-22 in an exhibition volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

A turnstile crowd of 3,653 (5.798 tickets) watched as Saki Takeda put down a match-highi 16 kills and the Nagoya-based pro team out-dug Hawaii 62-55 over 90 minutes.

Sophomore hitter Tai Manu-Olevao finished with a team-high 11 kills and was just one of two Wahine to play all three sets. The other was senior libero Ali Longo, who finished with nine digs.

UH coach Dave Shoji used 15 players in the warmup for Friday’s Big West Conference opener against Cal State Fullerton. The match with the Titans will start at 7 p.m.

Senior All-American Emily Hartong had six kills and an ace in two sets and senior hitter Ashley Kastl added seven kills when coming off the bench in Set 3.
