No. 8 Hawaii sweeps UC Santa Barbara in volleyball

Junior All-American hitter Emily Hartong put down a match-high 16 kills and sophomore middle Kalei Adolpho was in on seven of Hawaii's 14 blocks as the eighth-ranked Rainbow Wahine swept UC Santa Barbara 25-13, 25-16, 25-21 in a Big West Conference voleyball match tonight in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Hartong completed a double-double with 11 digs for Hawaii (14-2, 7-0 Big West).

Leah Sully led the Gauchos (9-11, 2-3) with 10 kills and 10 digs. Setter Ali Santi, a Punahou graduate, had 25 assists for UCSB

The Wahine next host Cal State Northridge Friday in a 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
