UH kicker named Mountain West special teams player of the week

By Star-Advertiser staff

University of Hawaii placekicker Tyler Hadden was named the Mountain West Conference special teams player of the week today, the conference office announced.

Hadden, a sophomore from Whittier, Calif., kicked three field goals of 40 yards or more in the Warriors' 23-7 victory over South Alabama Saturday.

Hadden made good on attempts from 40, 41 and 42 yards.

He is the first Warrior since Jason Elam in 1991 to kick three field goals of 40 yards or longer in one game.
