A 20-point halftime lead was more than enough of a cushion for the Hawaii women's basketball team, which defeated UC Davis 59-48 tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Senior point guard Monica DeAngelis scored a game-high 20 points and junior forward Kamilah Martin had her ninth double-double of the season, 10 points and 12 rebounds, in the win.

UH (12-11, 8-4 Big West) remained a game behind league-leader Pacific (19-5, 9-3). The Rainbow Wahine and Tigers meet up on Saturday at the Sheriff.

A defensively dominant first half earned the Wahine a 34-14 lead at the break. UCD was held to 21.7 percent shooting in the first half with 13 turnovers.

Martin nearly had a double-double by the break with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Awesome job. Imagine, this team is contending for the conference lead now. Who else is coming out to the game on Saturday?
