Manziel shocked by Te'o girlfriend hoax

COLLEGE STATION, Texas >> Texas A&M Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel says his "mind was blown" when he learned of the Manti Te'o girlfriend hoax.

Manziel has gotten to know Te'o, Notre Dame's Heisman runner-up, while attending various award ceremonies over the last month and a half. The pair spent time together this weekend at the Walter Camp Awards dinner.

Manziel says of the situation: "Nobody could believe that. It was a shock for the entire sports world ... and I'm just as shocked as anybody else."

Manziel has endured criticism recently for his own internet dealings after tweeting a picture of himself holding cash at a casino the day after the Aggies beat Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl.

He says he hasn't been told by anyone at the school to tone down his behavior on the internet, but that he might think twice before sending out certain tweets in the future.
