Carissa Moore's solid surfing in the waning minutes propelled her to victory at the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro in Western Australia.
The reigning world champion caught a rolling right-hander and packed it with two sweeping cutbacks and enough style to score an 8.23 on her second-to-last wave. That lifted her past Australian Tyler Wright and gave Moore her second straight win in the World Championship Tour event. She outscored Wright 15.73-14.10 in the final, earning $60,000 and 10,000 points toward the WCT championship.
