POTOMAC, Md. >> President Barack Obama is playing golf at a private club in Maryland with ESPN co-host Michael Wilbon.

One of Obama's partners late last month was Tony Kornheiser. Kornheiser is Wilbon's sidekick on the sports show "Pardon the Interruption"

Obama's venue Saturday was TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, Maryland. The club has a championship course on 220 rolling acres in Montgomery County.

The White House says the other two members of Obama's foursome are White House aide Marvin Nicholson and Glenn Hutchins. Hutchins is a co-founder of the technology investment firm Silver Lake Partners. Obama has played with Wilbon and Hutchins on past golf outings.

When Obama spends weekends in Washington, he typically takes his clubs to military posts in Maryland or Virginia.

Is the Star Advertiser looking to become a social tabloid paper? Come on SA you can do better than this. Report on real news. Give insightful analysis and editorials. Aspire to rank up there with the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal. This kind of "reporting" is just tabloid fodder for the Obama haters. (Unless that is your purpose.) If you are going to report this stuff then at least keep it balanced. Report that Boehner told Golf Digest that he plays 100 rounds of golf a year. Or that President George W. Bush took 879 vacation days in his two terms in office and hold the record for modern presidents in taking a 5 week vacation in 2005. If you want to report on Obama, I would rather you give an editorial about the immigration impasse between Obama and republicans or their differences in foreign policies affecting Iraq, Ukraine, etc. or the republicans law suit and calls for Obama's impeachment. Keep your priorities higher, especially since you are the only major paper for Hawaii.
