ESPN adds 15 additional Mountain West football games for 2013

LAST UPDATED: 09:32 a.m. HST, May 09, 2013

ESPN and the Mountain West Conference announced 15 additional football games for the 2013 season today, none of them involving the University of Hawaii.

So far a total of 22 MWC football games will be shown on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3 this coming season, the conference said.

To date only four of the Warriors' 12 games are listed for national or regional TV, all of them on the CBS Sports Network.

Barring late changes, Oceanic Time Warner cable could have a wider inventory to offer this year in its pay-per-view package than the six games it offered in 2012.

The CBS Sports Network, formerly CBS College Sports, reaches approximately 50 million homes. ESPN is in more than 100 million homes.

I don't like when ESPN covers Hawaii games because the announcers don't always do their homework and ESPN can cut away from the game without any notice.

Agreed! "We don't want or need the exposure! We need the money from charging our fans to watch the crappy PPV games on Oceanic!"...ridiculous!

Could less mainland exposure help mainland recruiting?

Hawaii announcers butcher mainland names too. Bobby Curran called San Luis Obispo, San LEWEY Obispo. Josh at Noon called Cache Valley, CASHAY Valley.
