Jim Donovan of the University of Hawaii ranks ninth among 11 athletic directors from current or incoming Mountain West Conference members in base salary.

Donovan’s $240,000 base topped only those from Wyoming ($214,884) and Air Force ($165,300), according to a survey of 2011 figures published by USA Today.

The conference leaders were New Mexico’s Paul Krebs ($408,391) and Nevada-Las Vegas’ Jim Livengood ($350,000), according to the survey.

USAToday also said MWC commissioner Craig Thompson received $600,000.
