Hawaii baseball team finally wins at home

Matt Cooper tossed a three-hit shutout and Marc Flores stayed hot with three hits and an RBI as Hawaii snapped an 11-game losing streak at Les Murakami Stadium with a 2-0 win over Gonzaga on Tuesday night.

Cooper (1-2) worked his first complete game in a Rainbow uniform and didn’t walk a batter as Hawaii won for just the second time in 17 games this year.

Gonzaga dropped to 9-5-1 and suffered its first loss in its last seven games.

Flores finished 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Pi’ikea Kitamura went 2-for-4 with a double for Hawaii, which had 10 hits.

The Rainbows have a week off before hosting Wichita State in their final nonconference series of the season on March 20.
