Klaneski will teach football skills

Damien Memorial head football coach Eddie Klaneski will conduct a free skills training session Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Damien football field.

The session is open to Kalihi youngsters ages 10 and older.

Klaneski, a former Damien and University of Hawaii standout, will see what kind of turnout he gets Sunday before possibly continuing the sessions into August. Sunday's session will focus on defensive backs, wide receivers and quarterbacks.

Maunalani 12s win volleyball title

Maunalani went 11-0 in winning the 12s division title at the Volleyball Festival in Phoenix.

Team members were Kau‘i Keolanui, Cassidy Witten, Mehana Ma‘a, Kyra Hanawahine, Kili Robins, Kayla-Marie Kaanaana, Franchesea Anela Johnson, Mackenzie-Aoe Leong, Keri Nanea Lum and Karli Young.

Manunalani was coached by Pono Ma‘a with assistance from Charlie Jenkins.
