Rainbows end road trip with 3-2 loss to Long Beach State

Austin Wobrock grounded out to third with the tying run at third base and Long Beach State held on to defeat Hawaii 3-2 on Sunday at Blair Field in Long Beach, Calif.

Jeff McNeil went 3-for-4 with two runs and two stolen bases to lead the Dirtbags (24-25, 11-10 Big West).

Kalei Hanawahine went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for the Rainbows (12-33, 7-14), who finished 3-4 on a seven-game road trip.

Marc Flores doubled and scored in the second inning to increase his hitting streak to eight games.

Matt Cooper (2-7) took the loss for UH, allowing two earned runs in six innings on six hits. He walked two and struck out four.

Hawaii returns home for its final home series of the season beginning Friday against UC Davis.
