Ex-UH guard Fleming to play at East Carolina

Former Hawaii basketball guard Isaac Fleming will play for East Carolina.
Former Hawaii basketball guard Isaac Fleming has found a home at another Division I school.
Fleming, who was granted a release from the Rainbow Warriors program late in the 2015-16 season, has two years of eligibility to play for East Carolina of the American Athletic Conference. The Delaware native announced his new team on Twitter today, saying “Feels good to be back playing on the east coast! #BigTime.”

He averaged 9.5 points in 23 games with UH last season, primarily as the Rainbows’ top reserve. Fleming, talented but sometimes temperamental, saw his role diminish as the season progressed and he left the team just prior to the postseason run which saw UH win its first Big West tournament championship and NCAA Tournament game.
The Pirates went 12-20 last season, including 4-14 in the AAC, which features teams like Connecticut, Temple, Memphis and Cincinnati.
Fleming is the second UH player to find another D-I home this offseason. Backup center Stefan Jovanovic will play for Loyola Marymount next year. He cited UH’s postseason ban next season as his reason for leaving.

great, let East Carolina deal with his unsportsmanlike and technical fouls.
Let EC deal with this diva. I’ll be surprised if he gets significant minutes. If he does, you know EC will be looking at another season of single digit wins. I don’t think it was a coincidence that UH played their best ball of the season without him there.
I hope Isaac is happy there, but someone needs to him that ECU isn’t a “high major” program.
This article pretty much told the story about this talented but temperamental player. Maybe this change and/or another year of growing up will do him good. I wish him the best but I’m not sad that he left. I developed more confidence in Coach Ganot when he sat this talented player because of issues. Many coaches would give in the a player like Fleming.
So what! He left and took the best offer. I really could care less!
And who does UH has to replaced this 9.5 point reserve and the loss of 75+ points a game from all of the players that left, most of them early. Oh yeah, Sheriff, averaging a point a game. And the people in the know can tell you that the the players will dropping f-bombs and ignoring the coaches in practice under Ganot.

People who make their money commenting on basketball say, “Hawaii probably won’t be a bottom-feeder in that conference, but after recording 70 wins over the past three seasons, the Warriors might be lucky to win 50 percent of their games in 2016-17.” In other words, with Ganot’s recruits, lucky to get a winning season next season. Which professional commentator not on drugs is predicting a repeat Championship?
Ignorant people only spew insults. Show us the numbers. The professional commentators, even the Bigwest people, all predict a giant collapse for UH. Only one Ganot recruit averaged double figures, and that was in HS.
Ignorant people conveniently forget the past that led to the “collapse” for UH you so gleefully bring up. Are you jumping for joy that your beloved conman Gib is the one responsible for the collapse and the past wins you are so in love with is a delusion based on a corrupt man’s crimes? So you rather wallow in the misery of past crimes instead of supporting the rebirth of the program? They say ignorance is bliss and you sure make that true.
People who make their money commenting on basketball (as you want to bring up) almost unanimously pick Ganot as conference coach of the year and they are NOT saying UH will “collapse”. Unlike you, they realize a rebuilding year is in order and appropriately rank UH for that. Now, go and sulk in the corner with your criminal idol, Gib.
Glad cry-baby left; I’m sure he’ll enjoy sitting out a year and displaying his displeasure to the coaches and team. Probably will threaten to leave again because he has to sit a whole year and daddy will back him up in agreement.
Still got my fingers crossed for UH to find a couple talented bigs,(6’10” or bigger)who can bang and shoot like a shooting foward.

Hey everyone, wish the kid the best for the rest of his life because he already screwed up while at UH. His legacy here is that his name isn’t on the team that won the 1st conference championship and 1st NCAA playoff game in UH history. That’s punishment enough.
