UH football signs QB, lineman

College of San Mateo quarterback Dru Brown and defensive lineman Alexander Sunia of Leone High in American Samoa have accepted football scholarships from the University 0f Hawaii.
Both players will enroll in the bridge session, which begins June 26, and participate in training camp. Brown will have four years to play three UH seasons.
“It just felt like home,” said Brown, who completed a recruiting trip to Hawaii on Thursday. “It’s a great place. I love the coaches. I love the players. It’s where I want to be.”
Brown, who is 5 feet 11 and 200 pounds, threw for 1,879 yards and 21 touchdowns in 11 games in 2015. He also averaged 4.7 yards per non-sack rushes. San Mateo ran a pistol offense.
Brown said he first met UH coach Nick Rolovich several years ago at Nevada’s football camp. Rolovich was Nevada’s offensive coordinator for four years through 2015.
“I really like Coach Rolo and the whole (UH) staff,” Brown said. “I feel like they genuinely care about their players and the program.”
Sunia was used primarily on the offensive line for Leone. Sunia, who is 6 feet 2 and 305 pounds, is expected to compete at nose tackle or defensive tackle for the Warriors.

Already comes in with Pistol offense tutoring and on hands experience is a big plus for UH. Can’t ask for why he was recruited.
What’s his 40?
Hope he turns out okay. Kind of short but who knows.
Despite his height, he has good feet and balance, quick release and a nice touch on the ball from what I saw on his videos with 4.5 40 yd speed.
Alright!, looks like he got the, ZPD-dodah. Looking forward to see how he does.
Sunia’s big smile looks more like an olineman. But then again…
Dru is small. But so is Breeze and Wilson. Let’s see what he got.
At least Rolo has a bunch of young candidates to evaluate. There is no way Woolsey is going to be the starter this year (unless at least three others suffer injuries).
