Christian Standhardinger has 54 points and 26 rebounds in the past two games.

Hawaii junior forward Christian Standhardinger was named the Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week today for leading the Rainbow Warriors to a pair of come-from-behind road wins last week.

Standhardinger averaged 20.5 points and nine rebounds in a 72-68 win at UC Riverside on Thursday and a 77-75 decision at Cal State Fullerton on Saturday. UH had to make up double-digit deficits in both games.

UH (13-9, 7-4 Big West) is in third place heading into Thursday’s showdown with first-place Long Beach State at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Standhardinger also had 31 points and 16 rebounds in the first of UH’s three straight road wins at UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 26.

He is the second Rainbow Warrior to receive the weekly honor this season. Redshirt freshman Brandon Jawato was UH’s first BWC Player of the Week recipient on Jan. 7.
