The University of Hawaii said it has convened a four-member "search advisory committee" to begin the screening process for selecting a new head coach for the women’s basketball team.

UH said Gay Satsuma, Al Chee, Marilyn Moniz-Kaho’ohanohano and Carl Clapp will assist athletic director Jim Donovan in the search for a successor to Dana Takahara-Dias.

Takahara-Dias was fired March 7th after three years on the job.

Satsuma is the associate director of the Center for Japanese Studies at UH while Chee is chairman-elect of ‘Ahahui Koa Aneunue, the athletic department booster club, and a Chevron executive.

Moniz-Kaho’ohanohano and Clapp are associate athletic directors at UH.

No timetable for the selection was announced.
