The Hawaii soccer team remained winless in the Big West Conference after a 2-0 defeat at UC Riverside Sunday.

UH (5-6, 0-2 BWC) was shut out for the first time in five matches and fourth time on the season.

Michele Nagamine’s team is still searching for its first conference road win in its second year of Big West play.

The Rainbow Wahine outshot the Highlanders (5-7-1, 2-0) 8-3 in the scoreless first half, but were outplayed handily after halftime, yielding scores in the 54th and 79th minutes. UCR’s first score came on a penalty kick by Tyler Cunningham when UH was charged with a hand ball violation in the penalty box.

UH returns home for matches against UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly next Friday and Sunday.
