University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior Hauns Brereton goes up for a shot against UC Irvine Anteater Daman Starring during a quarterfinal game of the 2013 Big West Tournament at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

With an assist from its former head coach, the University of Hawaii basketball team has been been invited to the CollegeInsider.com postseason tournament.

The Rainbow Warriors’ season was on the brink of ending after a first-round loss to UC Irvine in the Big West Tournament. Instead, the Rainbow Warriors will be hosting Air Force in the CIT’s first round on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
