UH’s Parnaby named Big West Pitcher of the Week

UH pitcher Kaia Parnaby fires in the ball in route to pitching a complete game shutout in their matchup against Ole Miss at the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic at the UH softball stadium. UH won the game 2-0.

University of Hawaii senior Kaia Parnaby was named the Big West Conference softball Pitcher of the Week today.

Parnaby went 3-1 with two saves and posted a 0.85 earned-run average in the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic over the weekend. She threw shutouts in her first three starts of the season, struck out 39 and walked three over 31 2/3 innings. Opponents hit .117 against Parnaby in her six appearances and she was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Pitcher.

UC Santa Barbara’s Shelby Wisdom was named Big West Player of the Week.

No. 23/25 UH (5-1) departs on its first road trip of the season on Tuesday and will play in the Easton Desert Classic in Las Vegas starting Thursday.
