Lenny Klompus, one of former Gov. Linda Lingle’s senior advisers, is taking a job with state House Minority Leader Gene Ward.

Klompus said Monday he will help coordinate communications and policy for the eight-member Republican caucus, which is outnumbered by 43 Democrats.

Klompus previously served as Lingle’s senior adviser for communications since she was elected in 2002, earning $104,000 annually. He said he didn’t know his new salary yet in his position as an administrative services manager.

He said he wants to eventually return to his event marketing and consulting business. But in the meantime, he said he’ll assist the Republican Party.
