Overnight lane closures on the Ewa-bound H-1 will continue to affect evening commuters this week.

Three westbound lanes will be closed between the H1/H2 merge and the Pearl Ridge/Waimalu off ramp 7:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, according to the state Department of transportation. The closures are for the ongoing viaduct repairs there, according to state officials.

Last I checked, the section between H1/H2 merge and the Pearl Ridge/Waimalu exit is heading eastbound.

Those that live west of the Halawa interchange don't appear to be aware of the pending doom. Once that PM zipper-lane is implemented, not only will all those commuters deal with the now half-century long morning traffic-gridlock heading town-bound, there will be a newly created afternoon, stretching into the evening and night traffic-gridlock heading town-bound. So if you switched your job, schooling, or personal business to the evening/night to avoid having to deal with the routine morning traffic-gridlock - so sorry!

yeah..they need to widen the highway in order for the town bound lanes to flow smoothly..it's not gonna be pretty..there's already alot of traffic that's stop and go when they close the town bound lanes at night
