A woman pedestrian hit by a vehicle on Kamehameha Highway has died, Honolulu police said.

Traffic Division Lt. Robert Towne told KITV News that weather could be a factor in the crash, along with reduced visibility.

Police closed the east-bound lanes of Kamehameha Highway between Pali Momi Street and Lipoa Place while Traffic Division officers investigated the crash scene.

The HPD Traffic website reports an accident in the area at about 4:23 a.m.

The roads were reopened at 7:21 a.m.
