Rest Easy organic bedbug killer

» What is it: Organic bedbug killer/repellent made from essential oils, including cinnamon, lemongrass, clove and mint. In other words, it's not poison.

» How it works: The directions say to spray around the perimeter of your bed and elsewhere in your room, killing the bloodsuckers or forcing them to retreat into cracks and crevices. It also suggests spraying your luggage so you don't take them home.

» The good: An office that had been overrun by a kind of tiny insect similar to fruit flies was used as a test site. One worker said she had killed a few of the bugs on her desk on a Monday. On Tuesday she sprayed an X pattern of Rest Easy on the floor of her cubicle, then in a circle around it. She liked the cinnamon smell, which eventually dissipated.

The only bug sighting at her desk that day occurred when another worker turned on a fan that blew a bug to her desk. She treated one more time Wednesday. She saw no more bugs at her desk for the rest of the week. Meanwhile, neighboring workers just feet away continued to kill the bugs.

» The bad: It's not poison. It's cheap. It seems to work. It comes in a 2-ounce bottle permissible for carrying on flights. No "bads" about it.
