Hula and chant at Kilauea Crater

Volcanoes National Park » Traditional hula and chants will be performed at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 13 outdoors on the hula platform overlooking Kilauea Crater at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

The performance will feature Alva Kamalani and Halau Manule‘a Hawai‘i.

The event is free but park entrance fees will apply.

Isle piano players to battle on Maui

Kahului » The Maui Music Conservatory will present a "Battle of the Pianists" concert from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Maui Music Conservatory at Kaahumanu Mall in Kahului.

Island pianists will perform works for one, two and three pianos. The program will feature pieces by Chopin, Copland, Cone, Koston, Pollock, Liszt and others. Admission is free.

Men's chorus going country

The Puna Men's Chorus will put on boots and cowboy hats for a performance of Big Island-style country music at 7:30 p.m. July 23 at the Palace Theatre in Hilo.
