There are many ways to see Oahu, but the most unforgettable is to walk around its coast alone. I designed each section of my hike to end at the home of a friend where I could anticipate a hot dinner, a glass of wine, companionship and a soft bed.

A half-century has passed since my father worked for the National Park Service. It was high time for me to make the trek to his former stomping grounds in Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks.
