Box jellyfish influx subsides in Waikiki

The influx of box jellyfish has subsided in Waikiki this morning, according to the Ocean Safety Division.

While there were no jellyfish sightings in Waikiki, lifeguards reported one sting. On Sunday, lifeguards reported an estimated 400 jellyfish in Waikiki and 112 swimmers who suffered stings.

No jellyfish or stings were reported this morning at Ala Moana Beach, Waimea Bay and Hanauma Bay.

On the Leeward Coast, approximately 100 jellyfish were observed at Maili Beach. No stings were reported.
