Hawaii companies and non-profit organizations get free marketing help

Hawaii Pacific University’s graduate marketing students will work with three Hawaii businesses and non-profit organizations this summer to revamp their marketing programs for free.

“We’re looking for local companies that need help with their marketing,” said Bob Sigall, instructor of HPU’s integrated marketing course.

Over the last 10 years, the class has completed marketing plans for more than 75 companies, including Zippy’s, Waikiki Beach Walk, Maui Brand Sugar, Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, Waikiki Aquarium, Vera Wang Boutique, and The Hawaii Theatre.

Sigall said the project is a win-win for both parties — students get real world experience, while companies get an average 25-page marketing plan, including strategies, redesigned promotional materials as well as ads, slogans and public relations campaigns.

The students also analyze web marketing, pricing, sales, location, customer service, and packaging and direct mail tactics.

Interested companies can contact Bob Sigall at 847-2046 or Sigall@yahoo.com.
