A man in his 30s was in critical condition after being attacked on Keeaumoku and Makaloa streets early today.
The assault happened about 3:57 a.m., said Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic.
Cheplic said the man was walking with another man back to their vehicle when the two were assaulted “by a number of unknown assailants.”
The man was taken to a local trauma center.
The other man did not need medical treatment.
