ARTafterDARK celebrates Bali with its monthly party at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, featuring the sensual pleasures of music, textiles, food and, of course, art.

Colorful, hand-painted kites in the spirit of Bali’s annual Kite Festival will soar over the Banyan Courtyard, and draped fabrics will embellish the common space. “When you think Bali, you think bold, beautiful colors, so we wanted to reflect that,” said event coordinator Bernadette Santos.

The Kinau courtyard will reverberate with the sound of gongs, as the University of Hawaii Gamelan Ensemble, Sebara Madu, presents song, dance and musicianship, and DJ Silvana will create a dramatic soundtrack of deep house in the Central Courtyard. Docents will provide Zip Tours of the Christensen Fund Gallery of Indonesian Art. Patrons can try on imported Balinese masks in the Luce Pavilion. And Indonesian-inspired food will be served by Town restaurant.

» Where: Honolulu Academy of Arts, 900 S. Beretania St.
» When: 6 to 9 p.m. June 25
» Cost: $10; free for HAA members
