» The U.S. Forest Service first proposed a plan to introduce the Brazilian scale insect to Hawaii to control strawberry guava. After the Forest Service withdrew the proposal, the state Department of Agriculture decided to pursue the plan. The July 1 "Under the Sun" column on Page A13 reported that the Agriculture Department proposed the plan. The online edition has been corrected.

» State Sen. Josh Green, a Big Island emergency physician, is medical director of organizational development for the Hawaii Independent Physicians Association. He was identified as the organization’s president in a Page B4 article last Wednesday. The online edition has been corrected.
