UH, HPU softball coaches at QB club

Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific softball coaches Bob Coolen and Bryan Nakasone, who led their teams to unprecedented success in 2010, are the guest speakers at tomorrow’s Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon at the Maple Garden Restaurant.

Coolen, the 21-year UH coach, guided the Rainbow Wahine to their first appearance in the Women’s College World Series, including an upset of No. 1-seeded Alabama in the super regionals.

Nakasone, in just his second year as head coach, led the Sea Warriors to HPU’s first NCAA Division II softball national championship by defeating Valdosta State in the title game.

The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. with the program to start at noon. The public is welcome.
