"BABE" GETS MARRIED! 1. "Babe in white" Kathy Mawae and her husband, David Hitzl, second from left, were congratulated by longtime friends guitarist Peter Bond, left, and KRTR on-air personality Chris Chang after their wedding July 25 on the lawn at the Queen Emma Summer Palace. The friendship goes back to the early '90s when Mawae worked at KQMQ and inspired the saying "Babe is as Babe does" -- in other words, that how one treats others is a truer measure of attractiveness than physical beauty.

"ALOHA, JENNIFER!" 4. Newly arrived store director Jennifer Licata, center, was hostess and guest of honor at a private preview of the Louis Vuitton 2010 Fall/Winter Collection at Louis Vuitton Waikiki. Patrons were able to pre-order items at the party; the collection was released for sale last Sunday. LV personal shopper Mary Chang and Dale Ruff, regional VP of Louis Vuitton Hawaii, took the lead in introducing Licata to the guests.

ISLAND EDGE OPENS 2. Miss Hawaii USA 2010 Renee Nobriga took time to talk with photographer Kim Taylor Reece during a private pre-opening fashion show July 31 at Island Edge Ala Moana. Taylor Reece had good reason to be smiling: Nobriga was modeling a design from the Signature Kim Taylor Reece collection.

KNAPP HONORED 3. John Rampage, left, partied with Terence Knapp and Laurence Paxton at the 2010 Po'okela Awards July 26 at the Ko'olau Ballroom in Kaneohe.
