Package deal on Molokai

Kaunakakai, Molokai » Aqua Hotel Molokai is offering an "Escape to Molokai" package for kamaaina that includes airfare, hotel accommodations and rental car for $499, including taxes, based on double occupancy and two-night minimum stay.

Kamaaina want to stay longer can add $109 for each additional night plus taxes and $34 per day plus taxes to extend the rental car.

This special is good through Sept. 30.

Kauai Beach Resort offers activities

Lihue, Kauai » Kauai Beach Resort recently announced a new schedule of activities for guests and visitors:

» E Komo Mai Receptions on Tuesdays: Music and mingling by the pool from 5-6 p.m., along with traditional hula and chants by Kauai Kumu Hula Doric Yaris’ Halau Hula o Hali’ileo.

» Puka Shell Making Classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays: Jon "Keoni" Pierson teaches guests to make Hawaiian shell bracelets and necklaces.

» Hula & Lei Making Classes with Aunty Marilyn on Thursdays: $25 for adults and one child includes making a fresh lei and hula lesson, 9-11 a.m.

» Art & Wine Thursdays: First Thursday of every month, art reception featuring work from Kauai-based artists from 5:30-9 p.m., wine tasting paired with appetizers from 6-7 p.m. ($20 per person, includes four tastings).

» Pau Hana Fridays Oceanfest: Live local entertainment on the pool deck from 5:30-7 p.m., Oceanfest Clambake at Naupaka Terrace Restaurant from 6-9 p.m. ($29.95 for adults, $15 for kids).

» Pool Paina Saturdays: Summer celebration with barbecue, cool treats and live entertainment poolside, featuring beer and cocktail specials, barbecue served from noon-4 p.m., live music from 1-3 p.m.

Kauai Beach Resort is a plantation-style property with vintage accommodations, four pools, two restaurants and a lounge.
