The Moana Surfrider’s celebration of the mango wraps up Aug. 27 with "Tree to Table — A Mango Throw Down." From 6 to 9:30 p.m., 17 local chefs will offer tastings featuring mango.

A friendly competition will also take place, with Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto among the judges.

Competitors include: Rodney Uyehara (Beachhouse), Jon Matsubara (Azure), Ryan Loo (Twist at Hanohano), Colin Hazama (Jean-Georges’ Kauai Grill), Ralf Bauer (Princess Kaiulani), D.K. Kodama (d.k Steakhouse), Donato Loperfido (Sapori Enoteca Birreria), Eberhard "Hardy" Kintscher (Michel’s), Chai Chaowasaree (Chai’s Island Bistro), Roy Yamaguchi and Jason Peel (Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine), Hiroshi Fukui (Hiroshi’s Eurasion Tapas), Robin Lee (Nobu Waikiki), Jeffery Vigilla (Bali Steak & Seafood), Colin Nishida (Side Street Inn), Russell Siu (3660 on the Rise), Wayne Hirabayashi (Kahala) and Alan Wong and Lance Kosaka (Pineapple Room).

Cost is $75 pre-sale and $85 at the event, which benefits the Culinary Institute of the Pacific. Call 923-2861.
