Man arrested after two threatened, robbed

A 26-year-old man was being held at Oahu Community Correctional Center on $75,000 bail for allegedly robbing and threatening two other men last week.

Police said Randy Q. Gaoiran had gotten into an argument with the first victim over a business venture, threatened to kill him and took his cell phone.

Gaoiran later threatened to kill him while holding a screwdriver to his chest last Friday, police said. Gaoiran also took that man’s cell phone, police said.

Gaoiran then allegedly ordered the first victim to drive him to the airport. While in the interisland terminal parking lot, he held a knife with a 6- to 8-inch blade to the driver and ordered him to give up his wallet, keys and his Toyota Tacoma, police said.

The suspect was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop on South Beretania Street.

Gaoiran was charged with first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery, two counts of terroristic threatening and two auto theft offenses.
