Kauai continues search for missing California tourist

LIHUE — Kauai emergency crews and concerned family members are continuing their search for a missing visitor from California.

Nola Rebecca “Becky” Thompson of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. arrived on Kauai on Aug. 28. The 45-year-old was last seen Thursday — the day before she was due to fly home.

Thompson’s mother Pearl Thompson says her daughter’s silver Chrysler convertible rental car was never returned and her possessions were still in her hotel room.

Thompson is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. She has shoulder-length blonde hair and a fair complexion.

The Garden Island newspaper reported Tuesday that a Kauai helicopter conducted an aerial search Sunday and Monday along the Na Pali coast and other parts of the island.
