Man in his 50s apparently drowns off Mokuleia
A man who appeared to be in his 50s apparently drowned today while swimming in waters off Mokuleia.
Bystanders found the man face down in the water, fronting 68-285 Crozier Loop, about 2:15 p.m., said Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic.
They brought the man out and gave him CPR until firefighters and paramedics arrived, Cheplic said.
Paramedics took the man in critical condition to a nearby hospital, where he died, Cheplic said.
