Fire investigators say Enchanted Lake brush fire was deliberately set
Fire investigators have determined that a Labor Day brush fire in Enchanted Lake was deliberately set and want the public to go to police with any information about its origin.
About 50 acres burned at the ridge between homes in Enchanted Lake and Kailua High School on Monday afternoon.
Flames got as close as 10 to 20 yards from several structures at the high school, said Capt. Terry Seelig, a Honolulu Fire Department spokesman.
The fire appeared to be started in brush just off of Akiohala Street, Seelig said.
